Syria: IFRC is stepping up its humanitarian response

In Syria the number of people in need has increased from 1 million in 2012 to 12.2 million in 2014. The number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) has risen from 1 million in 2012 to 7.8 million in 2014. More than 3.3 million Syrian people have fled ongoing violence to find protection in surrounding countries and humanitarian needs are on the rise.
 
The IFRC is stepping up its humanitarian response through the launch of the revised appeal for Syria. The health budget has been tripled within a general budget increase in key areas.
