Food relief still key in the Philippines

ENG

The Philippine Red Cross relief teams have distributed over 44,000 food parcels to almost 200,000 people.
Much of the focus has been on Barangays (villages & suburbs) around Tacloban and towns further south in Leyte where other organisations have not penetrated.
Markets in Tacloban and other towns are slowly coming back to life although staple commodities like rice are not readily available in large quantities and food relief will be needed for some time.
