Influx of refugees from South Sudan in Uganda

ENG

When violence broke out in South Sudan in mid-December 2013, thousands of people fled to neighbouring countries, including an estimated 60,000 who crossed the border into Uganda. IFRC launched an emergency appeal of 1,722,559 Swiss francs to support the Uganda Red Cross Society in providing assistance to 25,000 refugees over the course of six months. Interventions include the provision of emergency health care and psychosocial support, improved access to safe water and adequate sanitation, as well as shelter.
